I really do not know how you are coping with the non payment of salary and the entitlement. I know many are already fed up of the whole situation. I cant but show concern.

Heavy tears gripped my eyes when i came across a lecturer who begged for assistance from someone. The tears also increased when i saw a non teaching staff trekking from school to his house. I wept profusely that i couldn’t hide the pains in me. This is not because am related to any one of them but because am human.

It is true that LAUTECH situation has gotten to a stage where another industrial action by now may not bring good result due to the intransigent attitude of the governors. But does it mean working without salary is good ? I just pray and hope all the staff would be able to bear and sacrifice again for the whole of second semester. Ouch, i can see you are about to say Amen !

I will conclude this short piece with a quote from ROBERT MUGABE which goes thus;

“When your salary comes in time, you eat chicken. As the salary reduces you eat products of Chicken (Eggs) and subsequently you begin to eat chicken’s food, (maize and millet), and finally, when salary is finished, you become chicken itself, spending your time walking around just looking for what to eat”!

A wise investment will provide opportunities for one to always eat Chicken whenever he or she pleases!

THINK, INVEST WITH THE LITTLE YOU HAVE NOW.

I hope the school too will invest and work on the recommendation  in my journal as a way forward. The journal shall be published soon by NUCJ, FOSSU, UNILORIN CHAPTER, and a big and very popular blog/ website.

Till we write on the controversial amended calendar, feel free to return back to school on may 2.
