I just decided to face my own study on campus and not minding any girl until I build my CGPA to a level where I won’t need to be wary of any on-coming storm. I focused so much on my Academics, I was able to stay away from carry overs, though that didn’t mean I didn’t engage myself in extra -curricula activities.
But I never derailed. And apart from the fact that I had no idea what to say to a lady, I deliberately decided to give that a break until my latter years in the University.

It was in my 3rd year that I had my 1st girlfriend. She wasn’t a Unaabite anyway, she was a FUTARIAN, she wasn’t based in Lagos neither in Abeokuta, so how in the world did we meet? As in those days, it was only limited to phone communication, The social media had not been pronounced as it is now. We only had Myspace, Hi5, Yahoo Messenger and not everyone had a Wap phone then, so my meeting Misimi had to be something physical.

But what would a teenage-student like me be doing outside of Abeokuta on my own. Didn’t my parents send me to Abk to study and expected me to not go beyond my boundary, as they never gave extra permission to travel or gave extra allowance for that.

This is just to highlight how students take their freedom to another length. We tend to have the believe we have this independent life when we are on campus. Guys involve in so many atrocities no one at home will believe they could do. Some go into cultism, smoking, partying and right at home, they are considered pastors.

I remember a friend of mine that was the son of a top Deeper Life Pastor. You wouldn’t belive that as this guys did everything contrary to what I was sure he would be known for at home.

Same thing applies to ladies, girls get on campus and their lifestyle entirely changed. Freedom makes more girls prone to hustling, as they believe no one is watching. That reminded of a girl like that in 100 level, that was living  a permanent couple’s life with here boyfriend. One Saturday, her parents were coming from the Redemption Camp and decided to give here a surprise visit. It was around 6a.m. they knocked on her door, and when she opened, she was on Wrapper and the guy was on boxer shorts, snoring comfortably on the bed.

She was so shocked, she just screamed like she was about to get kidnapped. This got everyone’s attention and it was then they realised her guests were her parents. The parents just turned back and asked her to come home with her wedding plans . So hilarious.

There was this other young girl of like 16 years then in her 100 level that everyone knew her boyfriend comes everyday to sleep with her, but anytime her mum came around to visit her, her mum would always tell the school mothers of this girl to help keep a watch over her. As she was still a virgin. Everyone would just chuckle.

I never got myself much into all sorts of these . But I did travel on events to other states with my indigene neighbors. We would travel to Ilesha, Ibadan, Ekiti, Benin, all for parties. It was in one of those travels that I met Misimi in Osu, Osun State. She was a roomate to my Neighbors younger sister. We were there for a funeral like that. And it all started as love at first sight, even though it was on the 4th day that I actually summoned the courage to speak with her.
